CORONATION Street’s Rob Mallard has grown close to a handsome modelling agent from Manchester.

The actor, who plays Daniel Osbourne in the ITV soap, appears to have got close to Matthew Martin since late last year and took him along to co-star Alison King’s birthday party last weekend.

Coronation Street star Rob Mallard has grown close to modelling agent Matthew Martin after splitting from his co-star. The pair are seen here with Martin’s sister and mum.

And things seems to be getting serious – before Christmas, Rob met his new partner’s family and even took them on a tour of the ITV studios where he works.

A source tells HOAR: “Rob seems loved up and it’s so nice to see. It’s like he’s completely smitten.

“Everyone is hoping this relationship is The One because Matthew’s a really nice bloke.

“Rob fits right in with his family and the cast who have met Matthew really like him.”

Rob joined the soap in 2016 as Ken Barlow’s youngest son – and quickly started dating co-star Daniel Brocklebank, who plays vicar Billy Mayhew.

The pair split just two months after officially revealing their relationship on the red carpet – with insiders blaming the pressure of working together.

They’re remained friends, and in 2019 Rob moved on with Ben Perryman, a friend of ITV star Philip Schofield.

However, Rob and Ben split up in late 2019 and the actor said he was single throughout lockdown – living alone while working on the soap.

Onscreen, Rob’s love life has been a lot more dramatic – with his character Daniel losing wife Sinead (played by Katie McGlynn) to cancer in 2019.

ITV and Rob’s agent have been approached for comment.
