CORONATION Street star Bhavna Limbachia has praised her sister, who is working on the frontlines of the NHS amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Taking to Instagram, Bhavna – who played Rana Habeeb in the ITV soap – shared a sweet snap of her with Carlie, introducing her to fans and thanking her for her sacrifice.

Bhavna shared an emotional post in tribute to her sister Carlie

“This is my sister Carlie.. she’s a frontline NHS nurse going back to work on the coronavirus ward,” wrote Bhavna.

“Today I’ll be celebrating all the NHS staff working tirelessly across the country in the fight against #coronavirus #NHSThankyou #ClapForOurCarers #ClapforNHS #ClapOurCarers.”

Bhavna’s post came as the UK stopped at 8pm for one minute on Thursday to applaud for NHS workers across the country while landmarks lit up blue.

The Clap For Carers campaign, which started online, was staged because “during these unprecedented times they need to know we are grateful”, according to the organisers.

At 8pm, grateful Brits obeyed government advice to stay indoors and instead showed their support from inside their homes, on balconies and in their gardens.

Some set off fireworks as loud cheers rang across the UK to thank those risking their lives to fight the deadly virus.

Lena Dunham, Stacey Solomon, Gemma Collins, and the Beckhams led the celebrities clapping for the NHS in a moving tribute this evening.

Princess Charlotte, Prince George and Prince Louis joined in to show their support along with a host of celebs including Jamie Oliver and Amanda Holden.

As part of the movement, landmarks including The Wembley Arch, the Principality Stadium, the Royal Albert Hall and Lincoln Cathedral were lit up in blue during the salute.
