Who is Scott Emberton?

Although this is his first time appearing as Scott Emberton on the Cobbles, Tom has appeared on Corrie in the past in a handful of roles such as a solicitor, Health Inspector and as Dr. William Gerald.

Tom previously told Metro.co.uk: “[Scott] is a very charismatic guy, he’s got a bit of a swagger and he is very confident.

“It becomes obvious pretty much straight away, as soon as Johnny clocks him, that there is a past there. It takes quite a lot to frighten Johnny, he’s no pushover and he is quite a strong guy. So viewers will know from the outset that this outwardly charming, funny man with his witty lines and his confidence is not all that he seems.”

Johnny and Scott have some kind of history

Scott has been renting a room at the Weatherfield pub since April.

It has been established that he has a history with the landlord, Johnny Connor (Richard Hawley).

Johnny is so scared that Scott is back in town that he has gone to France for an extended holiday with his wife Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews).

But after he raged at Chelsey and Jordan when they blackmailed Carla (Alison King) it became evident that there’s some history between them too.

How is he linked to Carla Connor?

On Wednesday, July 15, Scott had a go at Carla’s partner Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) by telling him how he should be treating his other half. He commented on how Peter failed to help Carla with her blackmailers.

But why is he so fiercely protective of Carla?

The theory has holes in it, like when viewers realised it seems that Johnny was keener for Jenny to be kept away from Scott rather than Carla.

If Johnny wanted to protect Carla, surely he would have bought her to France, too?
