Denise Welch reignites bitter feud with Piers Morgan calling him a ‘f***ing disgrace’ in row over Naomi Osaka

HOLLYOAKS star Denise Welch didn’t hold back as she called Piers Morgan out for silencing mental health sufferers such as Naomi Osaka and Meghan Markle.

The 63-year-old, who also starred in Coronation Street and Waterloo Road, took to her official Instagram account to share a scathing rant over Piers Morgan’s latest column for MailOnline.

Denise Welch launched a scathing rant towards Piers Morgan on her Instagram account

Sharing a print screen of his article to her 230,000 followers, Piers’ headline read: “Narcissistic Naomi’s cynical exploitation of mental health to silence the media is right from the Meghan and Harry playbook of wanting their press cake and eating it.”

Denise took to the caption of the photo to pen her own thoughts on how “disgusted” she was left by Piers words.

The Loose Women star penned: “Piers Morgan publicly berating a brilliant young woman for prioritising her mental health AGAIN!!!

“Naomi Osaka has bravely withdrawn from the French Open after admitting to crippling depression since 2018 and that fear of talking to press until the end of the competition can bring on her anxiety.

Denise also called Piers out over this tweet

Denise and Piers have feuded on many occasions

“Anyone who has suffered depression and anxiety knows that life becomes unbearable and you will do anything to stop the pain.

“Piers also proves why so many people suffer in silence because of fear of being called ‘an arrogant narcissistic spoiled brat’. This man is a f…..g disgrace.”

Piers has been accused of “having a problem” with Black female tennis stars and decided a photo of him with Selena Williams proved he doesn’t.

He tweeted the photo in question alongside: “Yes trolls, I have a real problem with female black tennis stars…”

Piers has been ridiculed for his columns making fun of women’s mental health

Denise was also left fuming over the tweet, sharing the screen shot on her Instagram and penning her own thoughts.

She wrote in her caption: “Pathetic attempt to deflect from the HUGE amount of deserved criticism levelled at him after his utterly disgraceful bullying of Naomi Osaka.

“Most of this comes not from trolls but from intelligent people sickened by his ongoing attitude towards women speaking out about serious mental health issues.”

This isn’t the first time Denise and Piers have come to blows as she broke down sobbing following their “coronavirus denier” rant.

Denise even took a break from social media following their feud in 2020 during lockdown after he branded her “dangerous” after she was accused of “rabble rousing” by This Morning star Eamonn Holmes.

She argued at the time that she is not a Covid-denier and instead just wanted the news to be mindful of causing anxiety in people over the deadly virus.
