HOLLYOAKS star Duncan James has ruled out working on any other soap after the hard work it took to star in the show.
The Blue singer, who played bad-boy cop Ryan Knight in the hit Channel 4 show, loved his two years in the soap but the long hours and brutal schedule means he isn’t in a hurry to repeat the experience.

Duncan James has ruled out joining any other soap after the hard work at HollyoaksSpeaking exclusively to HOAR he said: “I really enjoyed my time at Hollyoaks.
“I started off as this straight policeman, family man and I turned into a closeted gay murdering psycho.
“It was just crazy how they flipped my character. I signed a two year contract so always knew, what with everything else that was going on, that my character only had a two year life span.
“But they kind of kept it a little bit open, you saw me floating away down the river and then you saw Ste opening a body bag but you don’t know for sure.
“So you never know. One day they might bring my character back and cause some craziness.
“Would I do any other soaps? I really enjoyed my time but it is such hard work. It is non-stop and you don’t get any time to do anything else because it’s so full on.

“I feel like I’ve ticked that box but I wouldn’t be opposed to a doing a little return stint on Hollyoaks.
“I’m still friends with them all, and it’s the only soap I’d ever do.”
Duncan, 43, who is loved up with boyfriend Rodgrio Reis, 27, is currently performing on stage in Cabaret All Stars at London’s Proud Embankment.
And the much-loved and all round entertainer admitted that it’s where he feels most comfortable.
He said: “I’d never really done cabaret before and it’s just really great being back on stage performing, it’s something that I really missed, getting to sing live in front of an audience.

“It’s where I’m the most comfortable and singing is what I love doing the most.”
Duncan was speaking during a special promotion for Mecca Bingo, which saw him dressed up as a sexy santa.
The good-looking star will be making a surprise appearance at Mecca Dagenham this Friday to celebrate Junemas as the bingo giant brings the Christmas cheer to its clubs up and down the country.
And with many having to cancel their plans or were unable to celebrate properly six months ago, everyone is in for a real treat.
Duncan said: “I’ll be bringing my mum with me and we’re both very much looking forward to it.
“I am usually working away at Christmas. Over the last seven years I’ve been doing pantomime which is great and so much fun to do.
“So my Christmas is usually about all the families and the kids, making sure that they have the best time.
“I always get Christmas Day off so I’ll book a nice restaurant somewhere with my mum, because I don’t want to be cooking on my only day off.
“My daughter will come up and see the show and then we’ll do a mini Christmas together afterwards which is always lovely.
“Last Christmas I was back at Proud Cabaret in London and then it got shut down on the 18th December, so I actually had a really nice Christmas with my mum and my boyfriend Rodrigo despite everything that was going on.
“But I love that fact that Mecca are doing a Christmas special in June and I’m sure everyone is going to all have a lot of fun.”
Mecca Bingo are celebrating Christmas nationwide on Friday 25th June with festivities including Christmas jumper competitions, joyful playlists, yuletide cocktails, mince pies and crackers.
