EASTENDERS has been accused of ripping off Titanic as Mick battled to rescue his trapped wife Linda in a sinking ship.

The BBC One soap’s dramatic week of episodes to mark its 35th anniversary kicked off last night – and it didn’t disappoint.

EastEnders viewers pointed out that last night’s episode was like Titanic the film

But viewers pointed out the similarities between the boat tragedy and the 1997 film Titanic.

Mo even screamed: “Did we hit an iceburg?” after the boat came to an abrupt halt.

One fan said: “Wasnt sure if I was watching #Eastenders or #Titanic. Still hooked cant wait for next episode.”

Another added: “Anyone feel that last nights #Eastenders was like a #poundland version of #Titanic?”

The 1997 film starred Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet

Someone else said: “So Linda was Leo DiCaprio, locked in the underneath of the Titanic & Mick was Kate Winslet, desperately trying to save her!

“Except rather than being wrongly imprisoned, she’d got her leg stuck after drunkely trying to reach a bottle of wine! #eastenders #trueloveconquersall.”

A viewer added: “Well #EastEnders was like the Titanic tonight! Jesus lord, I was hooked. #EastEnders35.”

Someone else said: “So me & @essexmum92 really enjoyed watching Titanic!! …… I mean #EastEnders #EastEnders35 tonight lol @bbceastenders just waiting for Celine Dion to start singing!!”

Mick and Linda organised a boat party for winning the Pub of The Year contest.

It saw Walford’s favourite characters climb aboard for a night of fun away from the Square – but it ends in disaster.

Last night saw the boat crash and cause Linda’s leg to become trapped while below deck, with the water quickly filling up around her.

Mick tried to rescue Linda who got her leg trapped

Linda screamed she doesn’t want to die as the water starts to fill up below deck

While husband Mick – who had earlier threatened her with divorce – came to her rescue.

Despite Linda insisting he should leave her behind, Mick emotionally said: “Do you think I’d ever leave you? I love you. If this boat goes down, I’m going down with it.”

HOAR revealed that one unlucky character is set to die in the River Thames.

Fans have been left wondering if Mick will be the one to perish after noticing hes wearing a jacket the same colour as the person later receiving CPRin the trailer.
