It was thought that Danny had signed a new contract for a rival drama on Sky in a six-figure deal.

But now The Mirror has revealed that the soap star is going to give acting lessons to aspiring youngsters.

Danny will be giving masterclasses for his co-star Charlie Brooks online drama school London by I am Pro.

To be taught by the star, students will have to pay a £30 a month membership.

Danny took on the role of Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter in 2013.

But after nine years on the soap, the Football Factory star has decided to move on and pursue other opportunities.

A spokesperson for the soap confirmed back in January: “Danny will be leaving EastEnders when his contract comes to an end later this year.

“Danny has made Mick Carter an iconic character which we shall always be grateful for.

“However we won’t be saying goodbye just yet as there’s still quite some time – and plenty of explosive drama for Mick – to come before he departs Walford.”

Danny has previously taken leave from playing Mick to pursue other interests but always returned to the role he has held since 2013.

In 2019 he took a six-week break to appear in a series of plays paying tribute to his mentor Harold Pinter alongside Martin Freeman.

Days after the news broke Danny denied that he’s been snapped up by Sky in a bumper £1million deal, insisting “that’s not true at all” on his Sorted with the Dyers podcast.

“The big news is I’ve decided not to renew my contract,” he said.

“That’s all. That’s not because I’ve fallen out with anybody, I love everybody. That job has been amazing for me. It’s an important part of television.

“I’m grateful for the beautiful years I’ve had there. I’m going to miss the people massively. It’s me taking a risk.”

Since then he’s teased his exit from EastEnders will be one not to be missed.
