But even his celebrity status couldn’t swing him entry.

Danny still managed a smile for fans who recognised him in the street and he posed for a selfie after his run-in at the W Hotel near London’s Leicester Square.

Danny, who was nominated in the National Television Awards’ best drama performance category for his role as Mick Carter in the BBC1 soap, spent Friday night celebrating with several male pals.

The group started their evening at A-list haunt Soho House, before heading to private members’ club Quo Vadis at midnight where they stayed until 2am.

After Danny’s unsuccessful attempt at sweet-talking his way into the W hotel, he tried his luck at getting into nearby gay club Freedom, which also proved fruitless.

Eventually, the TV star gave up in search of a cab home.

An onlooker said: “Danny was prowling the streets at 2am as he wanted to carry on partying.

“He seemed to be in a good mood and just wanted to continue his  evening out with his mates, but sadly for him the bouncers weren’t having any of it.

“Fellow revellers were mega excited to recognise him and cheered when he agreed to pose for pictures. He was being really friendly and full of banter.”

Danny married his childhood sweetheart Jo Mas, also 44, in 2016.

They have three children — Dani, 25,  Sunnie, 13, and Arty, seven. He recently became a grandad when eldest daughter Dani had a baby boy, Santiago, earlier this year.

Dani’s ex partner Sammy Kimmence was recently jailed for three and a half years after he conned two pensioners out of £34,000.

Danny recently revealed he had taken up meditating daily to help him stay calm.

He said: “Just for ten minutes, to turn the noises down in my head. I think that should be compulsory in schools by the way.”
