EastEnders explosive new trailer shows Mels blackmail threat come to a head as fans fear shell KINDAP Louises baby

EASTENDERS have released an explosive new winter trailer, which sees Mel Owen’s blackmail threat come to a head – as fans fear that she will kidnap Louise Mitchell’s baby.

Today’s unsettling episode of the BBC One soap saw the unhinged character relish being mistaken for the unborn child’s grandmother as she rushed Lou to hospital when she suffered from braxton hicks.

Mel didn’t correct the error, and got emotional as she told Louise that she was heartbroken she’d never be a grandmother following son Hunter’s shock death earlier this year.

She has also become obsessed with Louise, the baby, and baby’s father Keanu moving to Portugal with her and Louise’s mother Lisa, and was seen kissing a baby scan and gushing: “Grandma loves you” as tonight’s episode came to a close.

The new trailer then teased further drama as Louise teamed up with stepmother Sharon for a joint 18th/ 50th birthday party.

Unbeknown to everyone but Mel, Sharon is also pregnant with Keanu’s baby following a sordid affair behind husband Phil Mitchell’s back – and Mel has been blackmailing Sharon with the information ever since Hunter’s death.

In the 30-second clip, Mel threatens to “say a few words” at the joint celebration, with panicked Sharon telling Keanu: “She’s going to blow the whole lot, me, you, the baby – everything.”

Mel is then seen staring adoringly at a photo of her criminal son as best friend Lisa admits: “She’s still in a really bad place and every now and then she’s going to lose it.”

A quick montage of guests at the party looking horrified flashes up, with Louise also holding her hand to her mouth in shock.

Grinning Mel is then seen racing panicked Sharon while Keanu’s voiceover can be heard shouting: “Just get to Phil, before she does.”

Fans flocked to social media to share their theories on Mel, with one writing: “I got a feeling when Louise gives birth to her baby Mel’s gonna kidnap the baby”.

Another added: “Mel is deluded that she has convinced herself that Louises baby is Hunter. Shes displaying signs that she is going to try and kidnap the baby once its born if its a boy.”

A third said: “Omg Mel is obsessed with Lou’s baby??!”

Earlier this evening, The Sun Online revealed that Danny Walters, who plays Keanu, is leaving EastEnders after three years.

Soap bosses hinted that the hunky mechanic could end up being killed off in devastating scenes as the huge storyline reaches its climax.

An insider told The Sun Online: “Keanu should know that secrets never stay secret in Walford and hes been playing with fire for months.

“The truth is going to come out in spectacular fashion and bosses are promising that Keanus exit is going to be explosive.”

EastEnders boss Jon Sen added: “Keanus story is set to come to a dramatic and blistering conclusion in the near future as one of best kept secrets on the Square is finally revealed with devastating consequences.”
