EASTENDERS fans have broken down in tears as Whitney Dean said goodbye to her daughter Peach.

The market trader – who is played by actress Shona McGarty in the BBC soap – had to have a termination after tests showed her baby wouldn’t survive for long after birth.

She was devastated by that news – and even more so when it became clear her daughter didn’t count as a baby because she died under 20 weeks along into the pregnancy.

Zack Hudson had been struggling with the loss too – and desperately tried to help Whitney but she has been consumed with grief.

She even left him to collect Peach’s ashes himself.

Tonight Zack decided to plant a peach tree at the allotment to remember Peach and scatter her ashes there.

At first Whitney refused to go, lashing out at Zack for suggesting it.

But after a few kind words from Chelsea, Whitney realised she needed to say goodbye to her daughter.

“I never got to hold my baby girl when she was alive and so I thought that meant I weren’t qualified to be a mum,” she told her friends and family.

“I know that I’m wrong because in my heart I am a mum. And not just to Peach, to little Jordan and Lily and all the other kids in my life.

“ I’m really grateful for all of you who’ve been there for me. Maybe one day I’ll have a little brother or sister for Peach and I know you’ll all be there.”
