EASTENDERS fans have a theory that sick paedophile Tony King isn’t really dead and will make a dramatic return to the Square.

The idea comes as Tony’s storyline has become front and centre again since his son Leo King arrived in Walford to get revenge on Whitney Dean.

Tony (Chris Coghill) was introduced into the BBC soap in 2008 as Whitney’s stepdad and was in a relationship with her mum, Bianca Jackson.

He sexually assaulted Whitney (Shona McGarty) in secret and also groomed her pal Lauren Branning.

When his crimes were eventually exposed after Whitney fell in love with her abuser, he was arrested and sentenced to 13 years behind bars.

In 2012, Whitney tried to visit Tony in prison but was informed that he had killed himself in his cell.

But the evil manipulator’s death was never shown on screen, so many viewers are certain that he faked his demise and will soon make a shock comeback.

One viewer posted on twitter: “I have this feeling that Tony didnt kill himself and hes still alive thats why his son is sniffing round Whitney.”

Another said: “I’m convinced #TonyKing is not actually dead after all, & he is still alive, & faked his own death, I also think it’s possible that Martin’s stalker #SarahCairns is #LeoKing’s mother, & they are both covering up the fact that Tony is alive #EastEnders.”

A third wrote: I have some mad feeling that Tony is still alive #EastEnders”

They later added: “I have a really creepy feeling Tony isnt dead, Leo seems to know too much about his dad (who Im presuming he never met) hed of only been young when all of this happened #EastEnders.”

And another seemed to think there was a sign in last night’s episode when Leo’s phoned rang.

Whitney, who has no idea of Leo’s real identity, was freaked out by his ringtone, which she said “reminded her of someone.”

Viewers are certain she was talking about Tony and reckon this could be another pointer to a potential return.

“Is the guy that abused Whitney, Leo’s dad, going to be alive now? #ringtone.” asked one clued-up viewer.

Another tweeted: Leos ringtone has to be tied to Leos dad Tony.”

Leo- played by actor Tom Wells – first showed up on the Square back in September when Bianca recognised him at Whitney’s disastrous wedding to Callum.

The pair exchanged terse words as it became clear to viewers who Leo really was.

Leo then showed up on Whitney’s honeymoon and romanced her, while she was oblivious to his true motives.

Last week Tiffany recognised Leo from the wedding and pointed out to Whit that he seemed like he was up to no good.

Whitney brushed off her concerns, however, and the pair went on a date last Friday.

The date ended in disaster, however, when Whitney saw Callum with Ben and decided she wasn’t ready to date again.

But with Leo agreeing to be friends for now, it’s clear he isn’t finished with her yet.

And as viewers will see later this week, he also has a revenge plan for Callum in a bid to turn Whitney against her ex.
