EASTENDERS fans have been left horrified after drunk Linda Carter demand a divorce from Mick – just like Den and Angie.
The alcoholic – who is played by actress Kellie Bright in the BBC soap – discovered Mick was planning on selling the Vic so they could make a fresh start elsewhere and hit the roof.
She went immediately to a solicitor and began divorce proceedings before getting sozzled and returning home to drop the bombshell on Mick.
When Mick insisted he loved Linda, she shot back: “How? From selling the Vic from under me? Taking my home, my money, taking my bank card off me.
“Youre trying to get rid, take my boy away from me. Youre lying to my face, you and your mother scheming. Well I’m not going to stick around to be stabbed in the back and drowned in the bath.
“Marriages in this place rotting away, it’s cursed and it’s always the man who sneaks up behind and buries the hatchet in your back.”
Mick told her: “I thought that we were married, in sickness and in health. That we solved each other’s problems. I thought that we loved each other…”
But Linda told him: “No we don’t. It’s just a habit, an old old habit. I don’t trust you. I don’t think you’ve got my best interests at heart.
“I don’t think this is working out, this any of it. I’ve taken professional advice. I’ve got to defend myself. I’m a mother, I’ve got a boy I’ve got to protect you that’s what they told me.
“Mick Carter I’ve instructed my solicitor to begin divorce proceedings. This marriage is over.”
The words left fans horrified as one wrote: “Linda??? More like Dirty Den! #EastEnders”
A second said: “Didnt say that coming… thought Mick & Linda would last forever 
#EastEnders”
Another added: “Mick and Linda forever. Theyre going through it right now but they are soulmates 
#EastEnders”
Actress Kellie Bright revealed how she loved recreating the famous scene when Den served Angie with divorce papers on Christmas Day.
She said: “It was good! I enjoyed it, I tried not to think back too much because otherwise you get wrapped up in the pressure of a scene like that.
“I tried to just think about it in terms of us and our journey and what we were doing but Im very nostalgic anyway about the show. I love all those nods to the past.”
