But Phil couldn’t co-operate on an empty stomach which left viewers in stitches.

Keeble began: “Why don’t we start with a few names?”

Phil replied: “Breakfast first.”

Keeble said: “You can visit any greasy spoon in London when we’re done.”

Phil insisted: “You ain’t getting [intel] until I get my hash browns.”

Keeble asked: “Fine. One slice or two?”

Taking to Twitter, fans were amused by Phil’s demands as one said: “You ain’t getting it until I get my hash browns. I love Phil.”

Another wrote: “Phil must have the upper hand if he’s able to demand hash browns.”

A third penned: “Phil Mitchell negotiating his release from prison in exchange for hash browns is so #EastEnders”.

Ex Sharon (Letitia Dean) managed to convince Phil to change his mind about working for the police after telling him Ben (Max Bowden) as gone off the rails.

Ben has been violently attacking people with homophobic views.

Sharon caught him beating up a young male with a steel pipe.

She warned him that he could end up in a cell next to his dad.

But can she get through to him?

Or can Phil help his son?

EastEnders airs Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays on BBC One.
