EASTENDERS fans are begging to know if actors Jamie Borthwick and Danielle Harold, who play on-screen couple Jay and Lol in the soap, are an item in real life. 

Danielle, 30, shared a snap of the two looking cosy on social media following heartbreaking scenes play out of Lola’s last days.

EastEnders’ viewers watched through tears on Thursday evening as Jay kidnapped his wife from hospital so they could enjoy one last day at the beach before her incurable brain tumour kills her.

Following the gut-wrenching episode Danielle shared a snap of her and Jamie gazing into each other’s eyes by Margate beach.

Posting on Instagram to her 285,000 followers, she wrote: “The best memories with the best crew.”

While many fans rushed to applaud the two actors for their outstanding acting, many couldn’t help but ask whether the two could be dating in real life. 

One person wondered: “Can someone tell me if these are a couple in real life??? As if they ain’t they need to be!!!!”

“I was going to say the same !! Both are single so there’s hope yet :p,” added another hopeful viewer.

Someone else asked: “what so they aren’t actually together yet?? hope they do!! X”.

“Tastefully filmed. Love these 2 as a couple. Lola & Jay, a cute couple of actors,” wrote another user. 

And a fifth gushed: “Jamie and Danielle should get together in real life”.

Thursday evening’s episode saw Lola and Jay sneak off to enjoy the seaside. , Lola was hiding a huge secret.

Lola had been desperate to tell Jay that she had decided to end her own life but was forced to put it off when he revealed he’d learned the guitar for her.

He then sang a version of Eric Clapton’s Wonderful Tonight.

Earlier this week HOAR revealed funeral scenes have been filmed for upcoming EastEnders episodes with Jay Brown actor Jamie Borthwick at the forefront.

After more than a decade in Walford, actress Danielle Harold will be bowing out of the BBC One soap as her character Lola Pearce dies a tragic death brought on by a terminal brain tumour.

The hairstylist’s condition has been worsening by the minute but she’s been adamant on making some last happy memories with her loved ones.

Her husband, on the other hand, is going above and beyond to support her through her last moments – and he will do so again during her funeral.

Fans of the London-based show were left on the edge of their seats when it was revealed Lola would be at the centre of a festival-style funeral in Albert Square.
