The mum-of-one has been on maternity leave since giving birth to her and partner Matt Kay’s first child, Dusty in July 2019.

Dusty was much-longed for after Lacey and Matt suffered two tragic miscarriages.

She has played feisty Stacey Fowler on EastEnders since 2004 – but the soap star insists being a mum is the toughest role she’s ever had.

“It highlights what’s important and what isn’t! I think I’m much more chilled out now I’m a mother.

“Somehow we manage to juggle everything and everyone and yet we still feel guilty for certain things.

“I think until you have done it you can’t understand how challenging it is yet so rewarding.”

Stacey ran away with her two daughters in the soap but is worried about her mum

Lacey’s character Stacey Fowler has been on the run with her two daughters, Lily and Hope, after bashing Phil Mitchell around the head with a wrench and leaving him for dead.

Initially Stacey’s husband Martin ran away with her but returned to Walford where Phil’s son Ben Mitchell started blackmailing him.

He told Martin that Stacey returned he would kill her, Arthur, Lily and Hope, so Martin lied and told his wife that he’d slept with his ex-wife Sonia Fowler.

Upset, Stacey believes him and says she’s glad he cheated as it’s made her see that Martin wasn’t a good person like she thought he was.
