Eastenders Liam Butcher actor James Forde reveals hes now a builder after quitting soap

FORMER EastEnders actor James Forde has landed a new job as a builder.

The star announced the good news to his fans on Instagram and got the job after last appearing on the BBC soap in 2015.

James has now become a builder

Forde played the role of Liam Butcher on EastEnders from 2008-2015.

He played a troubled teenager who struggled at school after being diagnosed with dyslexia.

Liam always wanted to please and at times would times would do anything for the approval of others, such as when Lola Pearce and Abi Branning encouraged him to steal alcohol and take a bag from Phil Mitchell.

He was part of some memorable storylines, such as when he joined a gang, which involved him getting arrested and stabbed by one of the other members of the crew.

Since leaving the show, the 23-year-old is now earning his salary by working as a builder and this is a positive move for James, who received plenty of support from his fans in the comments.

One fan said: “Looking good ma dude!”

A second fan added: “Lovely pick of u xxxxx.”

The caption on one of James’s Insta photos was “Bob the Builder”, to which a fan replied with the iconic question: “Can we fix it?”

Brilliant builder James is not the only soap star to have a normal job after they leave the spotlight, as another EastEnders star Katie Jarvis now works as a security guard at Romford’s B&M store.

Former Hollyoaks star Gemma Merna, who played Carmen McQueen on the soap from 2006-2014, quit acting to work as a yoga instructor and personal trainer.

Corrie’s Martin Platt, played by Sean Wilson for 20 years from 1985-2005, left the acting scene behind to start running a cheese-making business.

Tom Watt played Lofty Holloway, an original EastEnders cast member, but left the show in 1988 and went on to become a sports journalist.

James’s character Liam is the son of former EastEnders characters Bianca Jackson and Ricky Butcher.

Liam left the show by announcing he would be moving to Germany to live with Ricky, who left EastEnders in 2012.

Liam demanded 100,000 for him and girlfriend Cindy Williams to leave Walford to live with his dad or he would tell the police that Bobby killed Lucy.

After Jane promising that she would pay him regularly, he and Cindy left Walford together after saying goodbye to their families.
