EASTENDERS star Jessica Plummer has shared a brilliant behind-the-scenes video of her co-stars singing a Moulin Rouge medley, complete with dance moves.

During a break in filming, Max Bowden, who plays Ben Mitchell, was caught on camera by Jess singing the Elephant Love Medley, where he was later joined by Tony Clay and Ricky Champ.

Max kicked things off

But Ricky was quick to join him in the Moulin Rouge medley

Max, sat on a bench, belted out the lyrics “we could be lovers,” before Ricky – who plays Stuart Highway – ran out of his dressing room to continue singing, “and that’s a fact.”

Mx then ran from the bench to stand atop the railings while still singing, “though nothing, will keep us together,” before Ricky reappeared to join Max on the railings as they stood with their arms outstretched: “We could steal time, just for one day, we could be heroes.”

Tony could be seen laughing in the background as Jess giggled while filming.

The impromptu performance ended when Max spotted security heading their way and blurted out: “Oh s**t, security.”

The pair then continued the impromptu performance

Max is the sixth actor to play troubled Walford star Ben Mitchell, and as well as a talented soap star – he has also appeared in Waterloo Road – he is also a trained theatre star, and there are several YouTube videos of him singing West End numbers.

The BBC soap – along with its ITV and Channel 4 counterparts – had to halt filming due to the coronavirus pandemic, and despite going down to two episodes a week, went off air for the first time in its 35-year history in June after running out of episodes.

The soap’s finale ended with some whopping cliffhangers left unresolved as Sharon and Ian swooped in to steal the Queen Vic from Phil.

However, star Dayle Hudson may have inadvertently confirmed that the BBC One soap will return to screens with new episodes the week beginning September 7 after the actor shared new scripts on his Instagram page, and one of the scripts had a transmission date visible which read September 8.

Dayle shared these pictures of new scripts but they included transmission dates

Will the show return in September?

EastEnders went off air in June after 35 years

Shared by fansite Walford Web, the post read: “From Dayle Hudson’s Instagram – a script with transmission date of Tuesday 8th September visible!

“Could #EastEnders be returning to screens on Monday 7th September?”

The show airs on Monday’s so even though Dayle’s script says Tueaday September 8, there is a good chance there may be a script for the day prior as well.
