How is Sharon Watt’s murder plot exposed in EastEnders?

Sharon’s killer plan will be exposed when she strikes again next week and causes Ian to collapse.

As Ash rushes to Ian’s side, Sharon insists that he’s fine and just needs to rest.

But Dotty, who tried to expose Ian’s killer secret months ago, is quick to smell something fishy going on and angers Sharon with what she has to say.

Later, Sharon regrets kicking Dotty out of the pub and attempts to make things up to her, giving her a case of prosecco for her party.

Dotty refuses the offer, however, and later returns the case, leaving one mystery onlooker intrigued by their heated exchange.

Later, Sharon realises there’s another complication when Kathy berates her for not telling her about Ian’s worsening condition.

Someone overhears Sharon making an incriminating phone call and quickly lets Ian know what they heard.

The big question is: what has Sharon revealed?

Sharon is trying to kill Ian as revenge after he murdered her son Denny

Why is Sharon Watts trying to kill Ian Beale?

It was thought that Sharon was still in the dark about Ian’s involvement in Denny’s death during the soap’s anniversary boat party last year.

But EastEnders recently revealed that Sharon does indeed know that Ian killed her son – and that she’d been plotting his death.

After Phil pulled out following the gruesome attack in the Queen Vic, which he and Sharon had organised, viewers watched Sharon take matters into her own hands and serve Ian a poisonous Christmas pudding.

Does Ian Beale die in EastEnders?

It’s not yet clear whether Sharon’s mission to murder Ian succeeds.

But speaking about Sharon’s killer plot, actress Letitia Dean – who plays Sharon in the BBC One soap – confirmed that her character is hell-bent on getting revenge.

She revealed: “She is completely driven at this point – not thinking of anything else – she just wants Ian gone.

Speaking about Sharon’s motives, she continued: “Well I always knew that after what happened on the boat with Denny, that secret was never going to be forgotten, especially as there are such strong feelings involved,” she said.

“After months of lies and leaning on her best friend whilst grieving – the one person that was there for her turned out to be the reason behind Sharon’s pain.

“As far as Sharon’s concerned, Ian very much deserved it. It’s something of a lucky coincidence in Sharon’s eyes that Ian’s managed to provoke half the Square into a murderous rage at the same time – that certainly took the heat off of her and Phil whilst they were plotting!”
