Paddy Kirk's heartbreaking Emmerdale exit after breakdown has viewers in tears

EMMERDALE fans have broken down in tears after Paddy Kirk’s suicide plan was discovered.

The vet – who is played by actor Dominic Brunt in the ITV soap – is suffering from severe depression and has planned to take his own life.

Emmerdale fans were left feeling very emotional after Paddy Kirk’s suicide plan was revealed

Tonight, Paddy went around the village and was saying goodbye to everyone in a lowkey way.

But when he got into the vets, he quickly took a bolt gun – used to put down livestock – out of the surgery before disappearing.

“When he came back, he was gone and the door was left open,” Marlon added, relaying the message from Rhona to Chas and Bear.

Bear went upstairs and found all of Paddy’s belongings boxed up, with a letter.

He read it out, choking back emotion: “This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to write.

“I tried so hard to make it go away. But what I now feel every day, I can’t, I’m not strong enough anymore. I just want it to stop. I have to make it stop.”

Chas, Marlon and Bear were all terrified at the implications and jumped into action.

“It’s Paddy, Paddy,” Bear said to Cain and the other Dingles who were over the moon about Kyle’s case being dropped.

“What’s he done now?” replied Cain.

Bear told them all: “He’s going to kill himself.”

The Dingles quickly fanned out over the village desperate to find the vet but they had no luck.

Marlon was desperate to find his friend but Rhona tried to talk him out of it.

Only when Chas returned with the news Paddy hadn’t been found, did Marlon decide to join the search.

The pair headed to Grace’s tree in the woods in the hopes of finding him.

But fans are emotional at what they may find.

One wrote: “Really good episode that. @dominicbrunt you were brilliant, such a moving performance I’m in tears here.”

A second said: “You have touched a lot of lives and hearts today.”

Another added: “such an emotional episode hoping this storyline will raise awareness so men feel more able to speak up.”
