EMMERDALE fans are disgusted after the police closed the investigation into Andrea Tate’s murder.
The wedding planner – who was played by actress Anna Nightingale in the ITV soap – was beaten to death by Meena Jutla and left to burn in the fire.
But despite all the evidence – the police have failed to work it out.
The police detective visited Charles with and told him the bad news.
“I wanted to speak to you face to face,” he told Charles.
“I’m sorry for your loss and I appreciate how difficult this must be, and I don’t think this is going to make things any better.”
He told him: “We’ve investigated every line of inquiry and at present we’re unable to establish any proof of criminal behaviour in relation to Miss Tate’s death.
“We spoke to forensics and we believe she fell and hit her head on impact.”
As Meena Jutla eagerly listened in, Charles called her out and Manpreet rushed her away.
The detective then told Charles that until new evidence is found – the investigation is as dead as Andrea.
He said: “The investigation will remain open but we won’t be taking it any further at this stage.
“If any new information comes to light we will of course look into it but at the moment as things stand we’re done.”
Fans are disgusted that Meena has got away with another killing.
