EMMERDALE fans were too caught up in a change to the show’s style to notice the drama unfolding before them.
The ITV soap used a series of flash-forwards to start every episode this week to help Emmerdale fans make sense of what is in store for some of their favourite characters.
In the gloomy start to the episodes, viewers have seen so far a misty graveyard with an open grave, the slamming of an iron police cell door and heard a gunshot ringing out into the woods.
Shockingly, viewers discovered it was Cain Dingle involved in the serious car accident as he lay unconscious and bloody over the steering wheel.
But in some disturbing scenes, Noah was found to be at the bottom of the open grave, begging an unseen person to let him go.
He tried to free himself before the unknown assailant covers it over and leaves him in darkness.
Noah trapped in the open grave comes after his stalking and harassment of Chloe Harris.
Viewers speculated it might have been Al who trapped Noah he told Kerry he wanted to teach the teen a lesson after what he did to Chloe.

Despite the clues of the dramatic scenes to come on Emmerdale, fans were very distracted by the change to the format.
“So it’s not just the flashback intro all the soaps are getting into, it’s the ‘it’s all kicking off’ ones eh? Just have a woodland battle royale and have done at this point,” complained one fan on Twitter.
Another added: “Can’t keep up with these flashforwards…”
But some fans were keen on the mix-up to the episode style.
“Loving this flash forward edginess,” wrote one fan.
And a second commented: “Loving these flash forwards they are brilliant”.
Viewers of the long-running programme will have to wait and see what the flash forward scenes mean, but it’s all set to make some sense as each instalment will be starting with brief glimpses of future scenes.
Could this have all a link with serial killer Meena Jutla (played by Paige Sandhu), a well-known and even loved villain?
This may be unlikely as the criminal has been thrown in prison to serve a sentence of 75 years behind bars for her villainous deeds.
Could the accident be the result of Cain Dingle and Al Chapman’s feud as both men continue to bicker, going to any length to taunt the other?

One character this could also refer to, however, may be Jamie Tate.
Kim Tate’s son – portrayed by Alexander Lincoln – vanished from the face of the earth in 2021 and is even presumed dead by his family, with the exception of Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham).
