WITH the fate of the Woolpack hanging in balance, Emmerdale fans think they know who will be the pub’s new owner.

Viewers of the ITV soap took to Twitter to share their theory, throwing one unexpected name into the mix.

A tense auction is coming up for the Dingles

Weeks of feuding with the Dingle family led to Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) to retaliate in a desperate gesture.

The Woolpack was ruined by a devastating explosion on Christmas Day, leaving Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Marlon (Mark Charnock) to pick up the pieces.

The famous pub has since been put up for auction, meaning that a new face will be at the head of the Woolpack.

And some fans of the long-running soap believe they may have cracked the case.

Viewers are expecting Liv Flaherty to come to the rescue in a surprising twist.

The youngster played by Isobel Steele has been thrown behind bars in December, 2021, after being blamed for Ben Tucker’s death.

But with justice looming on the horizon for Meena Jutla, Ben’s real murderer, and Vinny fighting for her release, Liv could show up in time to save the day.

“Liv will give them the money! She will be free soon, and does not need that huge house to herself, she has money in the bank”, one viewer wrote on Twitter.

Another added: “Hope Liv gets out of prison buys the Woolpack.”

Liv is tipped to buy the pub after her late father Gordon Livesy left her with a considerable amount of money.

Although most of the money is tied up in the house owned by Liv, fans are certain she could give Chas and Marlon some of her fortune to buy the pub.

However some may believe this is still unlikely with Liv battling to remain sober after suffering from an alcohol addiction and her not being on the best of terms with Chas.

Could this help Liv to mend her relationship with Chas?

As mentioned above, the Woolpack was turned to rubble after an explosion.

When Chas and Marlon found out the insurance refused to pay for the damage, both turned to Al in the hopes of selling him the pub.

But this second plan fell through in no time as the latter was outsmarted by Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb).

Their scheming convinced loan shark Gavin to pull out of the deal, meaning Al didn’t have the funds to buy the Woolpack from the Dingles.

This not only resulted in conflict within the family, with Cain being disowned, but also pushed Chas and Marlon to turn to auction in a bid to raise the money.

A tense auction is underway with multiple residents determined to get their hands on the Woolpack.

While Cain will be setting his own bids, scenes airing next week will show that Kim Tate is just as eager to buy the pub, much to Chas’ heartbreak.

Could Liv help the Dingle clan?
