Paddy left Eve alone in the car after he rushed Marlon to hospital in Emmerdale

What is Paddy’s exit storyline in Emmerdale?

Paddy’s world came crashing down last night in Emmerdale when Chas revealed to the whole pub that Paddy had left their child alone in the car.

She added that she no longer trusted him with the baby after his awful mistake.

Paddy was humiliated by the situation and stormed out of the pub, before deciding to leave.

Wallowing in his sorrows, Paddy wrote Chas a note saying her and Eve would be better off without him – and that he’s leaving.

Paddy is kicking himself for his dangerous parenting blunder in Emmerdale

Why did Paddy leave Eve alone in the car in Emmerdale?

Emmerdale viewers will remember that it was Marlon’s health scare last week that led to Paddy’s parenting blunder.

Paddy had kindly offered to take Marlon out for a drive to distract him from his anxiety following his prison release.

But disaster struck when Marlon announced he had an extreme pain in his arm.

Paddy rushed him to hospital, fearing that he was having a heart attack.

Upon arrival, Paddy ran into hospital behind Marlon but completely forgot that he’d left Eve alone in the car.

When he rushed back to find her, Paddy was horrified to realise she’d disappeared.

Discussing the dramatic storyline, Paddy actor Dominic Brunt told Digital Spy: “”All Paddy can think of is getting Marlon to the hospital. He drags him inside and tells Marlon that he won’t be leaving his side – he’s with him all the way.

“It’s only later that Paddy remembers that Eve was in the car, he left the door open and it’s the middle of winter.

“Paddy’s reaction is just blind panic. He just runs straight out and hopes to find his daughter. He hopes he’s going to find her there and get her warm again, but he gets to the car and she’s not there.

“Rhona’s there and Paddy panics saying: ‘She’s been taken, she’s been taken’. He starts grabbing people, asking whether they’ve seen anyone with a child.

“I think as a parent that must be one of the worst things ever. He just absolutely thinks someone has picked Eve up, taken her and she’s gone.”

Chas is quizzed by social services without Paddy after failing to get hold of him

Are Chas and Paddy going to lose Eve forever in Emmerdale?

With social services set to start sniffing around after Eve was found alone in the car and checked over by doctors, things aren’t looking great for Chas and Paddy.

In episodes set to air later this week, Chas desperately tries to get hold of Paddy after she finds his note declaring he’s left for pastures new.

Chas is distraught when social services turn up and she has to cover for his whereabouts.

Has Paddy just made things a whole lot worse?

Is Paddy going to return in Emmerdale?

It’s not yet clear whether Chas will be able to convince Paddy to return home.

But there’s been no word that Dominic Brunt – who plays Paddy – will be leaving the ITV soap.

So hopefully Paddy will return to the village and face his problems head on.
