ILLICIT romances never stay undercover from everyone for very long in the ITV Dales.
Next week in Emmerdale, Chas Dingle and Al Chapman are backed into another corner as they’re still trying to keep their affair a secret.
Chas Dingle and Al Chapman are backed into another corner next week
How far will they go to keep their affair a secret?
This time, Chas’ own son Aaron (portrayed by Danny Miller) is the one that could drop the bombshell.
The Woolpack manager played by Lucy Pargeter was first caught out with her lover by Belle Dingle but managed to make her believe they were calling things off.
However, Aaron saw her with the businessman (Michael Wildman) a second time, even after he had seen them kissing, making him realise his mother perhaps has no intention of ending anything.
Coming up on ITV, Chas worries that Aaron will spill the beans, particularly to her husband Paddy (Dominic Brunt).
Meanwhile, an oblivious Paddy urges Aaron to hash things out with Chas and he reluctantly agrees.
A tense conversation ensues during which Aaron accuses Chas of still being with Al – and she vehemently denies.
Knowing she’s lying through her teeth, Chas is willing to do anything to keep her secret affair under wraps… even if it means pushing her son away.
She emotionally blackmails Aaron into backing down and is soon relieved to see him make the decision to leave the village altogether.
This may come as a surprise as Chas was devastated to see her son turn away from the Dales in December, 2021.
But she covers when Paddy expresses sadness at the news of Aaron’s departure.
Soon enough, Paddy notices that things don’t really add up and he begins to worry.
While Chas is going above and beyond to not let her double life be exposed, Al tries to slow down his own partner’s desire to move forwards with their wedding plans.
Fans of the Yorkshire-based drama may remember that Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) recently proposed to Al in the Woolpack with a cringeworthy rap.
This made Chas question their relationship but Al is still adamant on running away with her in the near future.
How far will they go?
Could they really leave the village?
Will Paddy figure things out for himself?
All questions will be answered in Emmerdale, airing from Monday to Friday at 7.30pm on ITV.
