The village could be left in ruins
The day begins on a happy note for Kim Tate as the businesswoman portrayed by Claire King gets ready to tie the knot with Will Taylor (played by Dean Andrews).
Kim is thoughtful as she rides her horse in the surroundings, a nod to the first ever episode of the Yorkshire-based drama, aired in 1972.
Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) looks across her farm land while Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) and her son Lucas set a red kite off up over the houses.
Meanwhile, a brooding Will looks pensive ahead of his wedding as Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade) hurriedly dashes about, preparing for the ceremony.
Villagers are busy going about their lives, in the hopes of the upcoming nuptials being a success… and unaware that the sky is darkening ominously.
As the wind grows stronger, a pregnant Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) prepares for a picnic date with Noah Dingle (Jack Downham).
Making her way through the countryside, she’s soon blown about by the force of the wind and her contractions begin.
She desperately calls her father Dan (Liam Fox) for help but her phone dies before she can tell him exactly where she is.
Amelia heads to find shelter and, soon enough, Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) is left to battle her way through the unsafe weather conditions to find Amelia and save the day.
The former vicar turned police constable sets out on a quad bike but could her quest leave her in dire straits?
Destruction ensues in the village when a barn at Moira’s farm collapses and the cows escape, panicking in the wind.
The stampede could leave more than one resident hurt.
In later scenes, both Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) and Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) are injured by flying debris in the storm and Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) is forced to choose between the both of them.
Al rushes to help Chas and Kerry gets a sense that something isn’t right.
Meanwhile, Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) and Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) are stuck in a minibus, growing increasingly worried when they fail to find the rest of the wedding party and a tree crashes…
To make matters worse, Nicola’s anxiety gets the best of her in the middle of the storm.
Later on, the sun rises over Emmerdale in the aftermath of the storm and the full devastation is revealed.
