FAITH Dingle left her family heartbroken after admitting defeat in her breast cancer battle.

Next week in Emmerdale, her daughter Chas played by Lucy Pargeter carries out her last wish.

The Woolpack manager was devastated when she missed out on her mother’s last moments.

Her brother Cain (portrayed by Jeff Hordley) was present when Faith breathed her last after deciding to end her life.

Recent scenes have shown villagers pay their respects to the veteran, known for her bold personality and quirky antics.

It’s not surprise her last wish involved some explosive consequences.

Coming up on ITV, Chas reveals that she’s finally had the opportunity to carry it out.

She announces that Faith’s ashes have been dropped off at the factory – allowing her to become a firework.

Faith, who was portrayed by West End star Sally Dexter, had been diagnosed with terminal breast cancer earlier in 2022.

She first gave chemotherapy a try but eventually decided against any form of treatment for her illness.

Instead, Faith accepted her fate and made memories with her loved ones before her time came.

But when the cancer started to take over, she made a shocking decision, asking Sam Dingle how he helped his wife Alice take her own life.

Chas, who was with her lover Al Chapman when Faith passed, believed her mother had died of her cancer.

Initially, Chas felt guilty about not being able to say goodbye and blamed the businessman for stopping her from being present at Faith’s bedside.

However, she was soon made aware by Cain that Faith never wanted her around for her death, knowing Chas would have stopped her from committing suicide.

To make matters worse, Chas learned her sister-in-law Moira knew all about Faith’s plan and had said nothing.

Faith died during Emmerdale’s 50th anniversary celebrations and ahead of an explosive week during which a storm ripped through the eponymous village.

Her passing was followed by Harriet Finch and Liv Flaherty’s deaths.

While the former was killed off after a quad bike crash, Liv was crushed by a caravan and slowly died in her husband Vinny Dingle’s arms.

Speaking of which, Vinny is still struggling to process Liv’s death after collecting her ashes.

He’s then sat with their dog Chip, feeling lost and depressed as he comes to the realisation his other half will never be coming back.

How will he cope?

Emmerdale airs from Monday to Friday at 7.30pm on ITV.
