EMMERDALE’s Kim Tate has been replaced by son Jamie as she temporarily leaves the village.

The vet has been forced to step up in his mother’s absence but also has hands with wife Andrea, who is currently blackmailing him to stay in a relationship with her.

Jamie takes from mum Kim at HOP in her temporary absence from the village

With Kim absent for a while, Jamie was set to interview the candidates for the management job at The Hide along with Jai.

As the interviews get underway, a nervous but hopeful Amy and Matty try to get the Assistant Restaurant Managers job, with Matty finding himself undermining Amy to sound better for the role.

Laurel goes for the Restaurant Managers job. Jamie watches Jai be ultra professional as he interviews his girlfriend and afterwards Jamie asks Jai for advice.

Soon he arrives home emboldened by Jai’s words and convinces Andrea he wants to be with her, covering his true feelings of hate.

The next morning Andrea’s in a state of bliss with Jamie and fails to notice his mask slip as he heads out.

Also in the episode, Andrea forces Jamie Tate to book them a romantic meal at the Woolpack and it’s the final straw for Belle who makes a swift exit.

The vet receptionist had her heart broken by Jamie as he reluctantly broke things off with her to get back with wife Andrea.

He was backed into a corner when his wife forced him to stay in a relationship due to blackmail and if he chose to be with Belle, she would tell the police about him accidentally running over Moira.

Next week things are going to get even worse for Jamie as Andrea forces him to spend a romantic evening with her.

The man behind the shady character Alexander Lincoln, is currently competing for a place on Dancing On Ice’s next series.

Emmerdale co-star and 18-year-old Joe-Warren, who plays Jacob Gallagher, was also at the auditions and dressed in a grey tracksuit.

Alex, 26, was equally well-prepared, in shorts, leggings and a blue anorak.
