Viewers know Priya Sharma has recently gone through heart-breaking moments in the Dales.
After getting caught in the maze fire that took Andrea Tate’s life in October, 2021, the character portrayed by Fiona Wade suffered from severe burns.
Amid her long and harsh recovery, she dealt with a relapse into her eating disorder – but she slowly pulled through.
Since then, the wedding planner has taken a backseat from all the turmoil in the eponymous village, although she was recently seen kissing her former cheating fiancé Al Chapman.
But while things appeared to be looking up for her, Priya is set for some shocking news as Leyla Cavanagh (played by Roxy Shahidi) gets increasingly worried about finances at Take A Vow.
Coming up, Priya is left gobsmacked when Leyla decides to fire her from Take A Vow.
As mentioned above, Leyla has been concerned about her finances, which is mostly due to Kim Tate firing her in earlier scenes of the Yorkshire-based soap.
However, unbeknownst to many in the village, Leyla is also struggling with her addiction to cocaine and things will be coming to a head for her once again next week.
Desperate for cash, she will be agreeing to store cocaine for drug dealer Callum, set to rock up the Dales next week.
But, soon enough, Suzy Merton gets involved as she’s surprised to see Callum outside Take A Vow and asks if Leyla is still scoring.
Unfortunately for Suzy, Matty Barton is on to her, hellbent on revenge after finding out how she was involved in his sister Holly’s death in 2016.
Matty finds Callum’s bag of drugs in Take A Vow and plants it in Suzy’s car, unaware it could put Leyla in considerable danger.
In later scenes, Callum confronts Leyla over the missing drugs and lets her she’ll have to find it or else.
