The lad has struggled with the idea of fatherhood

But he’s recently gone missing during a deadly storm in Emmerdale

Lydia Dingle (portrayed by Karen Blick) is beside herself when it’s clear that Samson (Sam Hall) is nowhere to be found.

The lad went missing in recent scenes of the Yorkshire-based drama, as a storm ripped through the village and made multiple victims along the way.

This leaves Lydia with the knowledge that she needs to tell her husband Sam (James Hooton) but she dreads the conversation.

ITV viewers will know that Sam suffered a great deal during the storm.

The farm hand was impaled on a spike after he tried to run away from a dangerous cow stampede in Butler’s Farm.

He was taken into surgery and is recovering from his injuries.

Sam blames himself for the situation once he finds out his son has gone missing and Lydia is pained by his clear distress.

Meanwhile, Sam isn’t the only one worrying about Samson as Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) is just as concerned for the youngster’s well-being.

Luckily for her, Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) reassures her and asserts that he’ll go and find him alongside Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) who decides to tag along.

Both men search the countryside for Samson and they finally find him.

Coming up, Mack and Noah stumble upon an unconscious Samson, hidden away in a dark tunnel.

The pair share a fearful look as it’s unclear if he’s dead or alive.

Recent Emmerdale episodes have shown Samson rejecting the idea of fatherhood as Amelia Spencer was adapting to motherhood.

This led to conflict between Samson and his father Sam, who tried to push the youngster to step up to the plate.

Soap fans grew frustrated with Samson’s behaviour – but could he be one of the eight major characters to be killed off the show?

Tune in to ITV to find out.
