CAIN Dingle spends Christmas in prison after pleading guilty for the murder of Al Chapman.

The tough man gets a brutal shock when his long-lost brother Caleb rocks up Emmerdale.

Christmas will be full of exposed secrets this year in Emmerdale

Another Dingle rocks up the village

And ITV viewers will discover their story

Cain (played by Jeff Hordley) took the fall for his eleven-year-old son Kyle Winchester and was thrown behind bars for killing Al.

The hot-tempered Dingle has since had restricted contact with his family as his wife Moira is one of his only loved ones paying him visits in prison.

However, the festive period always brings surprises in the Dales.

On Christmas day, Cain is faced with a shocking visitor, a man named Caleb.

The pair eye each other without saying a word but eventually break the ice… with Caleb revealing he was surprised to learn their mother Faith recently died.

It’s soon clear that Caleb, who will be portrayed by acclaimed actor Will Ash, is none other than Cain’s brother.

Caleb continues by revealing Cain had told him their mother Faith passed away three decades ago and confronts him.

He goes a step further by blaming Cain for taking away his choice to get to know his family – and the latter’s protective streak makes an appearance.

Cain gives his brother a stern warning to stay away from his family.

The following day in prison, Cain prepares himself to see Moira (Natalie J. Robb), knowing he has to come clean about another secret he’s been keeping from her.

ITV will be airing a flashback to 1991, where viewers will finally know more about Caleb and Cain’s story.

Meanwhile in the eponymous village, Cain’s sister Chas (Lucy Pargeter) navigates life with Paddy’s resentment weighing heavy on her conscience after her affair was exposed.

While both her and Paddy agreed to keep the hostility to a minimum for the sake of their daughter Eve, Chas is rattled when she sees the pair of them in The Woolpack, where she tries to find solace.

But she soon feels awkward and quietly leaves with her mother’s firework in tow.

Chas visits her daughter’s grave, reading out the card given to her by Faith.

As she misses both her mother and daughter, staying strong despite her pain, a stranger approaches her with some bombshell news while Faith’s firework takes off.

Could it be Caleb, ready to set the record straight about his link to the Dingle clan?
