Charley has said she is “p***ed off” by the unfortunate mishap but takes comfort in the fact no one was hurt.
Sharing a picture of the damage to her black car, Charley wrote on Instagram: “Good morning to ME. Just bashed my car into a post and this is the result.”
The soap star, who plays Debbie Dingle in Emmerdale, has since updated fans with a video message about her accident.
Sighing, Charley said: “So yes. Really annoying. I was driving into a space – I wasn’t even driving fast.
“If I’d been driving more than 2mph I probably would have taken the whole bonnet off. I can’t believe the damage that it’s done.
“Anyway, no one was hurt. That’s the main thing. But it’s just really p***ed me off.”
She continued: “Loads of stuff has gone wrong today. I need to just go to bed and just get back up tomorrow because today is not my day.
“I wouldn’t mind but I went to bed last night and did this really nice abundance, affirmation and manifesting meditation. That did not work, did it?”
Charley is married to her Emmerdale co-star Matthew Wolfenden, who plays David Metcalfe.
The couple have three children together; Buster, 12, Bowie, six, and three-year-old Ace.
Although many would assume the soap stars lead a charmed life, Charley never hides away from the truth on Instagram.
In October, she told fans how a family holiday had been ruined after her kids fell ill with a nasty stomach bug.
Looking unimpressed, she said: “All I’m getting is WhatsApps of the rain. Don’t worry, I’ll be back in rainy England soon (for all my moaning friends).
“Also, the sickness bug has rippled through the kids, I’ve had about 4 minutes sleep since we arrived so not all perfs in the sunshine.”
Alongside a ‘rolling eyes’ emoji, Charley added sarcastically: “Only post the cute bits.”
