EMMERDALE star Lawrence Robb has revealed his character Mackenzie Boyd’s motives behind the brutal attack on Caleb Milligan.

Caleb Milligan (Will Ash) arrived in the ITV village with a mission to make Kim Tate (Claire King) pay for his father Frank’s death and take all the family millions.

There will be a tense confrontation between Mack and Caleb before Caleb’s violent attack

Caleb is left for dead in a new whodunnit storyline

Mack has a motive after learning Caleb and Charity spent a night together

However, since his lies have been exposed, Caleb has made many enemies in the eponymous village, all of which could retaliate.

The Emmerdale schemer’s life hangs in the balance as somebody seeks revenge by pushing him over the edge of a woodland ridge and leaves him for dead – but who?

Cain Dingle, Leyla Cavanagh, Will Taylor and Mackenzie Boyd are all suspects in the mystery.

Mackenzie Boyd actor Lawrence Robb has spoken about how his character could be the murderer after finding out Caleb slept with his ex wife Charity.

He said: “He can’t really complain too much about the act itself, he hasn’t been an angel either.

“But I think it’s more the fact that it is Caleb who Charity chooses to sleep with. Mackenzie hates Caleb, he’s never liked him. So ultimately, I think that’s the most hurtful thing for him.

“It’s a soap, all characters eventually get what’s coming to them. Mackenzie definitely wants bad things to happen to Caleb.

“When things inevitably go wrong for Caleb, I’m not saying whether Mack will have a hand in it, but I’m sure he’ll be able to attest to the reasoning behind it.”

The actor teased there will be a tense confrontation between Caleb and Mack in the Rovers before Caleb falls and is left for dead.

Lawrence added: “It is a charged conversation, there’s definitely a feeling that Mack could clock Caleb like he did Dan recently but it remains bubbling under the surface this time.

“I think anyone in Emmerdale has it in them to be a killer, Mack definitely is troubled and estranged enough to ‘push’ the limits of what he’s capable of but that will remain to be seen.

“No one wants to be a suspect of anything, least of all for murder or attempted murder.

“Whether Mack is guilty or not, I don’t think it’s going to go down well for him. But he doesn’t have an alibi and he’s still furious with Caleb.”

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1.
