The police begin to investigate Toyah and Iramn’s car crash

1. Police investigate Toyah and Imran crash

Tragedies hide dark secrets in Weatherfield and the police are all too aware the smallest of conflicts can bring the most devastating consequences.

Such could be the case for Imran Habeeb (portrayed by Charlie De Melo) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) who have been involved in a terrible car crash.

The couple decided to go to the police to allow the solicitor to come clean about bribing Ben to lie in court.

But the crash left their lives hanging in balance.

Word of the crash gets to Weatherfield residents and questions begin to arise immediately.

This is due to Abi’s desperate attempts at getting Alfie’s custody, thus giving her a plausible motive to act out against the married couple.

The crash becomes a case for the police to solve.

Coming up, the street reels in the aftermath of the car crash while baby Alfie’s future seems increasingly uncertain.

Suspicions mount about the circumstances of the crash, notably after it’s revealed Abi’s (Sally Carman) mechanic husband Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) was the last to have worked on the Habeebs’ car.

But could he have hatched a plan to get rid of the married couple?

Summer takes drastic measures to get good grades… and lets Aadi take the fall

2. Summer cheats in her exams

Along with her body image issues and her type 1 diabetes diagnosis, Summer Spellman (portrayed by Harriet Bibby) is also trying her best to get good grades.

Coming up, Summer informs Asha Alahan (played by Tanisha Gorey) that the exam board is still looking into her appeal.

It’s up to her whether she chooses to sit her final exam or not.

Later on, Summer heads for lunch with new love interest Aaron Sandford (James Craven) to take her mind off things.

But she’s touched when Asha’s brother Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) shows he’s thinking of her and gives her a set of homemade revision cards.

The big day comes along and, while in the exam room, Summer unzips her blood sugar testing kit… revealing Aadi’s revision cards hidden inside.

When the invigilator heads over, Summer panics and makes out she needs to test her sugar levels but, to her horror, she realises the cards are missing once she’s outside.

The invigilator finds the cards in the exam room and, upon recognising Aadi’s handwriting, bundles him out.

The exam ends and Summer heads off – only to hear Weatherfield High headteacher Mrs Crawshaw scolding Aadi for cheating.

Summer seemingly lets him take the blame.

In later scenes, both Summer and Aadi are called to attend meetings at school.

But Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) won’t let his son take the fall.

Convinced Aadi is covering for Summer, Dev reveals that Summer has a new boyfriend so there’s no reason for him to protect her.

Aadi’s feelings are hurt as he has been hoping to rekindle his relationship with Summer – but will it be enough for him to throw her under the bus?

Is Brian hiding something from Cathy?

3. Cathy makes a discovery

His relationship with Cathy Matthews (Melanie Hill) began in secrecy and, apparently, Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) hasn’t quite stopped hiding things from his other half despite the years that have flown by.

This week, it appears their love life is lacking the excitement Cathy was hoping for.

Brian leads a glammed up Cathy into the Rovers but she’s disappointed when she realises their date night consists of a beer tasting at the local pub.

However, there could be a lot more trouble in store for The Kabin lovebirds.

Cathy’s face falls when she spots some troubling papers in Brian’s bag – what is he hiding from her?

Could this be the beginning of the end for Cathy who is set to exit the cobbles in upcoming months?

George comes face to face with his bully this week

4. George is horrified by Sean’s new beau

Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) hasn’t been the luckiest when it came to finding love.

The long-standing Weatherfield resident has also tried to build a bridge with his estranged son Dylan to no avail.

Recently, however, the Underworld machinist has seemingly experienced a change of luck as he has met newcomer Frank.

Confident the budding romance could eventually lead somewhere, Sean introduces Frank to his closest friends next week.

This week, Franks calls at No.11 and Eileen Grimshaw (played by Sue Cleaver) mistakes him for a ex-prisoner selling door to door.

But she’s mortified when Sean tells her Frank is actually his boyfriend.

In the Rovers, Sean then introduces Frank to George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) but the undertaker becomes flustered as he recognises him from school.

It’s revealed that Frank has left George with some terrible memories as he was his bully.

Max meets Sonya this week

5. Max gets a girlfriend

Sean isn’t the only resident who has potentially found love as things seem to look up for troublemaker Max Turner (Paddy Bever).

Although he continues to reap what he has sowed, particularly after he exposed Nicky Wheatley’s past as a sex worker, the teen gets a new love interest named Sonya this week.

Coming up, Max offers to help his school friend Sonya with her media studies homework.

The pair exchange a few messages and, eventually, Sony agrees to go on a date.

Max grins at his screen while David and his wife Shona (Julia Goulding) watch on, amused.

In later scenes, Max cooks a surprise dinner for David and Shona and admits he’s practising as he is hoping to impress his new girlfriend.
