HOLLYOAKS bosses have ensured that their hunky actor Owen Warner will not be off screen despite flying out to Australia to take part in I’m A Celeb.
Owen, 23, who has played Romeo Nightingale in the hit Channel 4 soap since 2018, was pictured arriving at Brisbane airport yesterday for the new series of the hit ITV reality show.

But while he’ll be stripping off in the jungle shower, clever bosses at Hollyoaks have done everything they can to maximise his exposure on the Channel 4 soap and won’t be writing out his character.
HOAR Online can also exclusively reveal that Owen will be involved in one of the soap’s biggest storylines of 2023 and looks set to be romantically involved with Jemma Donovan’s character, party girl and social media sensation Rayne.
It was announced earlier this month that former Neighbours actress Jemma, 22, and daughter of Aussie legend Jason, 54, would be joining the soap.
A Hollyoaks source said: “Owen may well be thousands of miles away in the Australian jungle but he won’t be written out of the soap.
“They way they’ve worked it viewers won’t even know that he’s away from Hollyoaks. Romeo is one of the soap’s most popular characters and has some big stuff coming up going into 2023.
“There’s a huge storyline involving a group of 20 somethings all moving into a shared house together.”
Romeo is currently with Theresa McQueen in the soap but with actress Jorgie Porter, 34, set to go off on maternity leave it’s not looking good for their on-screen relationship.
The source added: “It’s no secret that Jorgie will be leaving but everyone will have to wait and see how she goes and what happens with Romeo.
“But following her departure we will see Romeo move into a bit of a party house with a number of younger character including his mates Prince and Hunter McQueen, and Jemma’s character Rayne.
“It’s the start of a massive storyline for the group and Romeo won’t stay single for long.”

Hollyoaks is on weekdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with the soap’s First Look E4 episode on straight after at 7pm.
