HOLLYOAKS star Bob Cryer has landed a role on Coronation Street.

The actor – who played evil abuser Glenn Donovan in the Channel 4 soap – will appear as James Bailey’s football manager at Weatherfield County.

Bob’s character will help James through his struggles of coming out as a gay footballer in his job as a professional at Weatherfield County.

HOAR Online can reveal he will appear in two episodes later this year.

Bob was last seen on screens as evil Glenn Donovan in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks.

Glenn terrorised the fictional village and his on-screen partner Grace in a hard-hitting coercive control storyline.

Grace eventually fought back and tried to murder Glenn with the help of three of his other victims by poisoning him.

However they were all beaten to it by serial killer Breda McQueen who poisoned him herself as part of her campaign to murder all the bad dads in the village.

Actor Bob previously appeared on the cobbles in 1998 as a policeman and previously told HOAR Online how he was aiming to complete the set of all the soaps after quitting Hollyoaks.

He said: “I’ve only got Emmerdale and Casualty to go to collect the full set but I’d have to have a long conversation with my family before I agreed to anything.”

A Coronation Street spokeswoman confirmed Bob would appear in the soap.
