HOLLYOAKS star Kieron Richardson has revealed that Ste Hays is involved in the “flash-forward” New Years special.

The 36-year-old actor, who has starred in the popular Channel 4 soap since 2006, took a break from our screens in November 2019 after his extreme far-right radicalisation storyline.

Kieran has confirmed that he will be starring in the flash-forward episode

His character Ste returned to the village at the end of August after he tried to his extremist views behind him by moving away.

Considering the former drug dealer has been away for a while, many wondered if Ste will be involved in the New Years special.

During a recent chat with Digital Spy, he opened up about his involvement in the episode.

He told them: “I pop in for one scene in the flash-forward.

“It’s nothing massive, though, it’s just one scene.

“It’s going to be about putting all the pieces of the jigsaw together and Ste plays a minor role in explaining what happens in the episode, or why certain people are there.”

As 2020 draws to a close we’ll finally find out what everything meant in the special which aired last year.

The questions about the mysterious body bag, Tom Cunningham and Yazz Maalik’s wedding and various other friendships and romances will be answered soon.

Ste Hayes was groomed by Jonny Baxter and his pals in 2019

Last year Ste was groomed by newcomer Jonny Baxter and was tricked into believing his extreme racist views.

He then began to target Dr. Misbah Maalik and the rest of her family after he convinced himself that it was her fault that his sister Tegan died.

Jonny and his gang preyed on Ste because he was vulnerable and his actions made the rest of the village hate him.

After various chats with his sister Leela and best friend Sinead, Ste realised that what he was doing was wrong.

The star previously admitted that filming the controversial scenes left him feeling “dirty and horrible”.

He told Inside Soap Magazine: “The tides are already turning. And too right, because what Ste is doing is disgusting. I’ve taken part in storylines before where my character is crying all day, and it’s hard to shake off.

“But doing the stuff that we’re filming at the moment does make me feel dirty and horrible, because it’s wrong.

“I’m just hoping that there will be some sort of redemption for Ste at the end of this.”
