HOLLYOAKS have released their winter trailer and the festive period is set to be explosive for the village.

The dangling plot threads from the autumn are about to reach their dramatic conclusions as Mercedes McQueen wakes from her coma and Tony Hutchinson is found alive.

Mercedes McQueen wakes up from her coma

Viewers are currently in the dark about who gunned down Mercedes in the middle of The Loft’s dance floor.

While the suspects include husband Sylver, frenemy Grace and ex-lover Liam Donovan, only one person is sure who did it: Mercedes.

The trailer reveals that when she wakes up, we will find out who shot Mercedes McQueen.

This isn’t the only storyline the troublemaker will be involved in, as she is the one who finds Tony in captivity by serial killer Breda.

Tony is struggling to survive in his cage

Tony is on his last legs as Breda tells him it’s time for it all to end. She then carries a pitchfork as Pig Farm goes up in flames.

However, Tony survives – as he is found by a newly revived Mercedes McQueen.

Elsewhere in the village, Luke Morgan finds out he has been diagnosed with an illness and that he is dying.

Cindy celebrates their marriage as Luke begs Darren not to tell anyone, but their happiness is on thin ice.

Brody is made an offer by Liberty – will he accept?

Sienna’s life is also going to be flipped upside down, as Warren Fox returns with his twins as he vows: “Time to put our family back together again.”

This is bad timing, as Liberty confesses to Brody that Sienna’s last egg didn’t survive.

The couple were trying to get pregnant via IVF and as Liberty as the surrogate. Liberty suggests there’s still a way for them to have a baby with his DNA: by them two sleeping together.

John Paul McQueen comes face-to-face with Finn O’Connor

John Paul McQueen makes his dramatic return to the village, coming face-to-face with his rapist, Finn O’Connor, in front of mum Diane.

He left the village to go on a teaching placement in Singapore after Finn was arrested for the rape of him and the attempted rape of friend Nancy.
