MANY ITV viewers have followed the events in the Dales, which includ illicit romances, tense family reunions and shocking deaths.
While most Emmerdale fans agree with what could be better, a viewer has a list that may cause even more of a stir among them.
The Emmerdale viewer had a lot of unpopular opinions to share on Reddit
They had a bone to pick with several characters
They also asked for better storylines for other characters
Reddit user FormerFruit had a lot of thoughts about the Yorkshire-based program.
According to them, the ITV soap would benefit from some massive changes, especially within the line-up.
The viewer took multiple characters in the likes of Liam Fox‘s Dan Spencer and David Metcalfe (portrayed by Matthew Wolfenden) as targets.
“Dan – What is the point of this guy? Comes off as being some sort of practical joke. Same goes for Rishi Sharma. Pair of morons”, the viewer angrily penned.
“David is boring. He comes off as being dim and doesn’t contribute anything. Whilst harmless he doesn’t have the substance as other characters. Maybe just in need of some serious storylines.”
The Emmerdale viewer also had a bone to pick with some of the female characters.
“I cannot stand Belle. Just no. Same goes for Harriet”, they penned, before being just as harsh with Moira Dingle and Victoria Sugden (Natalie J. Robb and Isabel Hodgins).
“I cannot stand Moira, once a cheat always a cheat. Same goes for Victoria, for different reasons. She’s always been the same – Rude, judgemental and up her own a***.”
“Brenda is another useless character and the village busybody.”
“Amy is useless.”
“Kerry should just stay away. Just a loud, grating chav. Same goes for Amy, they need comeuppance for what they did to Frank.”
Considering the viewer’s aversion towards Moira, it’s no surprise they felt just as opposed to the farmer being married to Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley).
“Tracy and Nate are a good couple. Same goes for Jimmy and Nicola. Moira and Cain’s marriage was fried years ago, she’s never going to change and maybe they should just write her in her general personality, the village bike.”
More members of the Dingle clan are also at the receiving end of this fan’s anger.
“The older characters need good storylines, the younger cast seems to get all the attention nowadays.”
“Get rid of Noah and Sarah. Two brats that can’t act.”
“Debbie Dingle can stay away and never return.”
Only two Dingles have managed to find a spot in the viewer’s good graces, Paddy and Marlon, portrayed by Dominic Brunt and Mark Charnock.
“I think a character cull is in need all in all and that might just possibly happen sometime this year.”
“I can see Paul and hopefully Mandy being written off.”
The viewer demanded “some good stories” for other characters that they deemed to have been forgotten by soap bosses.
“I like Billy but he’s boring as f*** and is another character that needs some good stories.”
“I also like Will, another character in need of his own good story.”
“Charity is still a great character but she is annoying as f*** and needs better stories. Stop saying babe all the the time would be a start.”
Charity was recently involved in a heart-breaking storyline during which she suffered from an ectopic pregnancy.
To make matters worse, her partner Mackenzie cheated with Chloe Harris.
“The show is dominated by the Dingles and it’s fucking stupid. Bring in some new Sugdens for a feel of old school Emmerdale”, the viewer added.
But could they be on to something?
