The star, 62, has quit her role as Liz McDonald but remains one of Corries longest-serving actors with three decades on the cobbles.

During her lifetime on the soap, the talented actress was involved in some hard-hitting storylines including a tragic miscarriage and awful domestic abuse at the hands of former husband Jim.

In a classic Corrie twist, she was then forced to fight back as Jim attempted to embezzle her life savings.

Will Beverly ever return to Coronation Street?

Corrie bosses have confirmed theyve not given up on Beverly making a return to the cobbles.

Fans will be delighted to hear they are giving Bev a year off to recharge her batteries before attempting to draw her back to the cobbles with a big-money deal.

An ITV source revealed this week: This is not the end for Bev and Liz. The execs will leave her to relax and spend time with her family and friends and travel and theyll quietly offer her the chance to return in triumph.

Bev has said her biggest regret was that her character never shared a romance with Street Lothario Ken.

She joked:I always thought Liz should have gone there, but she couldnt because Deirdre was married to him.
