CORONATION Street viewers were all saying the same thing about the wine prices at The Rovers Return pub.

The scene in Friday’s episode of the ITV soap saw Dee-Dee Bailey (played by Channique Sterling-Brown) come into the pub asking for a white wine.

Dee-Dee arrived into the pub asking for a white wine

Jenny served her a white wine and asked for £5

Viewers were left fuming at the shocking prices

Landlady Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) asked: “small, medium or large?”

The solicitor replied: “Make it huge.”

Jenny added: “Oh, bad day?” before suggesting “I’ll tell you what. Why don’t I just give you the bottle and a straw?”

“Don’t tempt me,” joked Dee-Dee.

Jenny then asked for £5 for the glass of wine, leaving ITV viewers shocked at the extortionate pub prices.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: “£5 for a glass of screw top wine??? #Corrie”

Another chimed in: “Not even that big a glass. Back in the real world pubs are struggling.”

Also in the episode, Gail Platt (Helen Worth) left fans blushing as she revealed a rude-looking ‘stimulator’ that helps her sleep.

In a scene in the opening moments of the episode, Gail head into the kitchen to talk to son David (Jack P. Shepherd) and his partner Shona (Julia Goulding).

Standing in her dressing gown, Gail carried a small box in one hand, and an orange gadget in her other.

She said: “I have just had one of the best sleeps of my life. I tell you, this hand held thingy majig is a game changer.”

David asked what she was on about before taking a swig of orange juice, but he promptly spat it out when Shona told him it was “Gail’s stimulator” as his mum said the same thing.

As he grabbed a towel and dried his mouth he cried: “Ugh, flipping heck! I did not want to hear that…God!”

Gail thrust her hand holding the item in his face and said: “It’s a sleep aid, look!”

However, David continued to act horrified, before Shona gasped and said: “No! You didn’t think it was….”

As she smirked, David interrupted her and while pointing a finger at her, said: “No! I didn’t….stop it, stop it. Do not finish that sentence.”

Shona giggled while Gail carried on regardless, reading the box.

She said: “It says it provides C.E.S, Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation.”

She then handed the orange ‘stimulator to Shona, and the shape certainly caught Corrie viewers’ attention as well.

As David begged his mum to “stop saying the word stimulation”, one fan of the ITV soap tweeted: “I would’ve spat my orange juice out too.”

Another added: “OMG I am mortified, what is that device.”

A third wrote: “Oh dear Gail,” and a fourth penned: “This is Corrie at its best.”

Coronation Street airs on ITV1 and is available on ITVX.
