EMMERDALE has revealed another schedule shake-up with TWO episodes airing on Friday.

The TV schedules have been thrown into chaos due to the ongoing coverage of The Queen’s death and impending funeral.

ITV has revealed another schedule change for Emmerdale on Friday

Coronation Street will not air on Friday

It means the soaps are having to play catch up to try and fit all the previously axed episodes back into the schedule.

Now, ITV has confirmed that two episodes of Emmerdale will air on Friday, rather than the original one 30 minute episode.

The first will air at 8pm while the second will follow at 8.30pm, with the news being cut back to make room for the double bill.

There will be no Coronation Street on Friday.

The latest news comes as both ITV soaps air extra episodes tonight to bring soap fans up to date.

In a bid to catch back up, ITV will screen three episodes of Emmerdale tonight.

The triple bill will begin from 7:30pm and an hour of Coronation Street will follow at 9pm.

ITV reintroduced Emmerdale back into the schedule on Tuesday, while Coronation Street aired on Monday night at its usual time of 8pm.

TV disruption will continue into next week, with the National Television Awards – which were supposed to take place tonight – being postponed until Thursday October 13.

Meanwhile, the BBC has announced that Strictly Come Dancing’s launch will also not ago ahead as planned.

It was originally set to air on Saturday, September 17 but it has now been pushed back to Friday, September 23, the night before the first live show.
