CORONATION Street star Katie McGlynn has undergone a stunning soap star transformation since quitting the cobbles.

Joining the soap in 2013 fresh from a stint on Waterloo Road, Katie was the kooky and dowdy Sinead Tinker.

Katie played dowdy Sinead for seven years

A bit weird, and more than a bit simpering, Sinead become the love interest of Chesney Brown.

Only a near miss at death convinced her she deserved more than sitting in his house day after day confused at a boardgame.

And she soon met Daniel Osbourne and fell in love.

It saw Sinead come into herself – launching her own business and branching out, embracing her kookiness.

However, she soon discovered she was pregnant – and then a terminal cancer diagnosis followed.

It was a heartbreaking end to Sinead – and Katie’s – time on the cobbles, but she got to show off her acting chops.

She won the best serial drama performance award at the National Television Awards in 2020 – and soon her career soared.

Katie landed a role in The Syndicate and then made a shock return back to soaplan, signing up to Hollyoaks for a year.

She now plays anti-vax villain Becky in the Channel 4 soap, showing her range.

But it is her appearance on Strictly Come Dancing that has shown off Katie’s glam side.

While for years she has delighted fans with her various wigs and hair styles – including a hot pink bob – and fashion choices, her characters have always been on the dowdy side.

But now she’s put the hours in at the gym, lost a stone and is sequinned up to her eyeballs on the ballroom dancing show.

Katie shed a whopping one stone after feeling “dowdy and frumpy” during her last weeks of filming Coronation Street in 2019.

The actress, who played cancer stricken mum Sinead Tinker, confessed she felt “very down” about her appearance.

But now she’s at her peak and is showing what she can do on the Strictly dancefloor.

Now she’s a Strictly glamazon
