HOLLYOAKS star Lucy-Jo Hudson couldn’t resist poking fun at her on-screen son Owen Warner as he made his I’m A Celebrity debut last night.

The actor, who plays Romeo on the Channel 4 soap, had viewers in stitches with his comments on the show – particularly when he seemed completely clueless about who his very famous co-stars are.

Owen had no idea who anyone else was

Lucy, who stars as Romeo’s mum Donna-Marie, tipped the youngster to “smash it” despite having “no common sense.”

She told her followers:  “Well I expected nothing less…. my on screen son @_owenwarner…. Absolutely smashed it tonight in @imacelebrity ❤.

“He’s already coming across exactly how I thought, his lovely, genuine self! Who is an absolute sweetheart, and an old school gent… he’s also got no common sense ?? whatsoever…. ? which you will have seen tonight ?? and I know he won’t mind me saying that, because he laughs at himself!

“His one liners will have you in stitches! You will all love him ❤.”

Lucy continued:  “I’m so excited to watch your journey on this mega show! I know you’re gonna smash It.

“Let’s all get behind him…. ??⭐?.

“Good Luck Owen, continue to be yourself and everyone will just fall in love with you…. proud of you, your mama xxx.”

Viewers were particularly tickled by Owen’s reaction to Scarlette Douglas.

Unaware who the presenter is, it was down to Boy George to fill Owen in during the hilarious exchange.

The singing legend said: “She’s from A Place In HOAR.”

Clueless, Owen replied: “Whereabouts?”

Boy George told him: “No, like the TV show.”

The launch episode on Sunday night saw a new batch of 10 celebrities enter the Australian jungle for the first time since 2019, as the past two years were shot at Gwrych Castle in North Wales due to Covid-19 travel restrictions.
