PIERS Morgan and Susanna Reid ‘kissed’ on Good Morning Britain today – but all was not as it seemed.
Piers and Susanna were discussing a tip from Piers’ friend Jake Wood who plays Max on EastEnders about actors currently having to kiss their real life partners on screen.
He said instead of locking lips with their colleagues and on-screen partners, actors are being asked to bring their other halfs to work to kiss them in scenes due to the coronavirus.
Piers, 55, revealed the trick was to wear a wig so that viewers wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.
But the presenter and his co-host have a few tricks up their sleeve on GMB too and said EastEnders should use a “split screen” to allow the actors to kiss.
Demonstrating how it would work, the pair went in for a kiss multiple times but they couldn’t quite reach other and viewers saw their faces blending together to make a conjoined Piers and Susanna.
Piers remarked: “It is amazing wat you can do, we are more than two metres apart!”
Show bosses were determined to do the popular characters’ big day justice despite coronavirus guidelines making depictions of physical contact almost impossible.
However, Mitch and Karen’s “kiss” last month was ridiculed by some, who laughed at how “unrealistic” the smooch looked.
