Initially just Mickey Miller, played by cheeky chappy Joe Swash, the cockney geezer was soon joined by mum Rosie, dad Keith, sister Dawn, played by Kara Tointon, and twin brother and sister Darren and Demi, played by actress – and Joe’s sister – Shana Swash.

During her stint on the soap Demi’s biggest story line was her scandalous teen pregnancy where she gave birth to daughter Aleesha aged just 11.

She was saved by her family and eventually moved with her mother to start a new family in the Cotswolds.

These days Shana Swash isn’t facing anything so dramatic.

Now 31, the former actress launched her own coffee shop stall based in Barnard Park in Islington.

Joe, 40, shared his pride as he showed off Shana’s new business venture, Swash and Jones Coffee, with her partner.

“Super proud of my little sister and her partner,” he wrote on Instagram as he posed in front of the stall.

EastEnders fans were shocked that her character was axed, but despite an online petition, both characters left the show in July that year.

Shana continued her acting career since leaving EastEnders.

In 2008 she starred in the Scottish soap River City as the daughter of Shona Malone and appeared in BBC’s Doctors.

In 2009, Shana performed in Proud, a play at the Above The Stag Theatre.

She also won praise for her part in the 2016 film My Feral Heart where she played a young carer at a care home for adults with learning difficulties.
