The two iconic programmes had merged for a one-off special episode on Friday to celebrate King Charles‘ coronation.
This Morning hosts Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond hosted a street party on the cobbles and were joined by stars of the ITV soap.
It was all going so well until disaster struck later on in Salford, and a sudden downpour left them all running for cover.
The heavy rain poured during a cooking demonstration with Phil Vickery, but Samia couldn’t stop laughing and screamed: “Welcome to Manchester, it’s hail stones!”
The rain was soon picked up by their microphones and it threatened to drown out Phil’s instructions as he made royal rolls.
Dermot quipped: “Would this taste better if I ate it inside? This is so unfair!”
Moments later Alison announced: “Listen, the heavens have opened, so this is what we are going to do.
“We’re going to go to a break. There’s going to be loads more stars on the cobbles. Join us on the sofa very soon!”
The bad weather failed to dampen spirits though, and This Morning ended with the drenched cast of Coronation Street enjoying a cheery chat with Alison and Dermot inside the Rovers Return.
Soap legends Sally Dynevor and Michael Le Vell, who play Sally Metcalfe and Kevin Webster, told viewers why their characters won’t reunite.
In the soap Sally was initially married to Kevin, but she is now married to Tim Metcalfe, played by Joe Duttine.
Kevin said: “I like seeing Sally with Tim, they go well together!”
