The actor – who has played Ken Barlow since 1960 – celebrated his 90th birthday. in April.

The Corrie legend has played Ken Barlow on the ITV soap since 1960

But fans couldn’t believe he’d reached his 10th decade after seeing him appear on the ITV daytime show today.

“I want whatever Bill Roache is on,” said a viewer.

“The guy never ages!”

Someone else said: “Bill Roache must have access to the fountain of youth because he never seems to age.”

Another one added: “Love Bill Roache. What a legend! Looks amazing for 90! More like 70.”

Bill was on to talk about his memories of the Queen, having first met her when he was just 21.

“There was such warmth and friendliness. She always had a twinkle in her eye. You just feel she wants to laugh at everything.

“She gives you her full attention and really takes everything in.

“As a young woman she was a very beautiful person in every way. It was the warmth of her personality that put everyone around her at ease.”

During his 62 years on the long-running soap, Ken has been married four times, had four kids, numerous flings, been to prison and even been at the centre of a whodunnit.

But life off-screen hasn’t been quite as dramatic for the man who plays him.

Instead he keeps calm and tranquil by meditating on the toilet.

The veteran actor appeared on Loose Women back in 2018, then 86, and viewers all asked the same question about his age then, too.

A viewer said: “Imagine turning 90 and looking like Bill Roache. That man is a national treasure.”

While another added: “Blimey. What I would do to look like Bill when I’m his age. Fair play.”

Taking their compliments on board, Will detailed the ins and outs behind his book called Life and Soul, which delves into his secrets to feeling young at heart.

He added on the show that it is important to find “balance”, and even embracing “a little bit of what’s bad for you”.

He explained: “It is about moderation and balance. I often say a little bit of what’s bad for you, is good for you – because the body needs to build up its immune system.

“But we all know what’s good for us, and we all know what’s bad for us.

“If you had a day eating all the bad things, just compensate a bit the next day. I think the key thing is that you enjoy yourself.”
