MAX Turner returns home this week as he’s set for an early release from the STC.

Unfortunately, some Coronation Street residents struggle to forget his racist past. Here’s what could happen in Weatherfield.

Max Turner is set for an early release

But how will Alya react?

1. Brutal revenge plan

Vulnerable and isolated, Max Turner (played by Paddy Bever) was groomed by Griff Reynolds and took part in his plot to spread his racist agenda across Weatherfield.

This caused him to make videos for Griff which, sadly, inspired an unstable resident named Blake to try and murder Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) who saved local politician Maria Connor from an attack.

As a result, Max was charged with incitement to murder and thrown into an STC for six months.

This week on ITV, the troubled teen is due for an early release and his sister Lily reveals the big day has finally come for him to return.

Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) gets word of Max’s release and is horrified, pointing out that her granddaughter Alya almost died because of him.

Max is just as shocked when he’s told of his early release and jams his bad across his cell door, determined to stay put.

David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) talks to Max through the door and assures him he wants to help.

In tears, Max admits that he did some terrible things and can’t face returning home.

In later scenes, Max is filled with shame as a police officer calls to fit him with an electronic ankle tag upon his return to the cobbles.

The youngster then spots a delivery driver outside Speed Daal and hands him a letter for Alya.

Sadly, when Alya reads the letter, in which Max confesses how sorry he is, her anger rises and she heads out on a mission.

Could she come up with a plan to push Max out of Weatherfield?

Will he be turned away from the cobbles?

Will Ryan call the police?

2. Shock confession

Elsewhere in Corrie, Daisy Midgeley is getting ready to find out if Justin Rutherford will finally get the comeuppance he deserves for his vile deeds.

The barmaid’s stalking ordeal reached horrific heights when Justin tried to attack her with a jug of acid – but Ryan Connor (played by Ryan Prescott) put himself on the line.

By standing between Justin and Daisy, Ryan took the acid to the face and has sustained life-changing injuries from the ordeal.

Awash with guilt, as she remembered she had been the initial target, Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) tried to cheer Ryan up by pretending to be his Ibiza love interest Crystal.

Prior to this, Crystal had ditched Ryan altogether and let Daisy be the one to break the news to him.

This followed another rejection by Alya Nazir and Daisy knew Ryan would have nobody to truly rely on.

Coming up, Daisy and her partner Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) leave for court to find out if Justin will be sentenced for his vile actions.

As they leave, Daniel clocks an awkward look between Daisy and Ryan before she receives a text to “Crystal.”

Later on, Justin is led into the dock and both barristers deliver their closing speeches, making Daisy loose all hope of getting any justice.

The jury soon returns with their verdict, but what will it be?

This remains to be seen as there’s another bombshell in store for Daisy.

In later scenes, Ryan realises Crystal wasn’t real and Carla Connor (Alison King) urges him to try and find out who was behind the catfishing.

She adds that Ryan should even report them to the police.

Daisy masks her anxiety as she hears the truth about Crystal.

Could she finally come clean?

If Daisy did decide to admit what she had done, Ryan could be tempted to cut her off completely.

What if Daisy confessed she was harbouring feelings for him to save their friendship?

Fans have sensed that a love triangle between Daisy, Ryan and Daniel is quickly forming.

Could they be on to something?

Will Stephen murder Elaine?

3. Mortal danger for one resident

Meanwhile, Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) remains on his murderous warpath.

Elaine Metcalfe (portrayed by Paula Wilcox) was over the moon when Stephen Reid proposed to her, blissfully unaware that he was actually high on the same LSD he used to spike Carla Connor.

Blinded by greed, Stephen has resorted to unlawful ways to get his hands on whatever money he can find and decided to go through with the wedding regardless.

Tim Metcalfe, however, sensed Stephen was up to no good right from the get-go and tried to stop them from getting married.

Viewers saw the villain prove the cabbie right in April, 2023, when he took out an insurance policy on Elaine.

This week, things are moving along in the Underworld factory and after what appeared to be another psychotic episode, Carla Connor makes a huge decision about the future of her business.

The businesswoman calls a meeting with Stephen and drops the bombshell that she’s selling her share of the factory and she has already found a buyer.

Stephen’s shocked but manages a smile as he reads an email from the life insurance company confirming his first payment, implying that he could be willing to kill Elaine for some extra cash.

Suggesting to Elaine they remortgage Redbank in order to buy out Carla’s share of Underworld, will she agree?

Could Elaine be Stephen’s next murder victim?

Coronation Street airs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
