TROUBLED Summer Spellman relies on the support of her three father figures.

Coronation Street boss Iain MacLeod teased some major changes for Billy Mayhew, Todd Grimshaw and Paul Foreman.

Billy, Paul and Todd are set to make a huge decision

All three of them are father figures to Summer Spellman

The teen has benefitted from their support over the years

Weatherfield vicar Billy Mayhew (portrayed by Daniel Brocklebank) took the 18-year-old in following the death of her father.

Billy had been close with Drew Spellman and stepped up to the plate in 2017.

Over the years, the teen played by Harriet Bibby built a bond with Billy and has been just as protected by his former partner Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce).

Soon enough, Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) came into the picture and became another father figure for Summer before Todd sabotaged his relationship with Billy.

Despite this, Paul remains present for Summer – which will apparently prompt all three men to make a decision.

Speaking to HOAR, executive producer Iain MacLeod first announced that love is on the cards for two of them.

“Romance is in the air for two of them, I’ll leave you to guess which pair it might be”, Iain said.

“Historically there’s been strong feelings from both Team Todd/Billy or the other side for Paul/Billy.”

“We’ve been back and forth for years and have picked a team.”

But Billy, Todd and Paul will also be changing their approach to their life with Summer and join forces.

The young woman will be parented by a same-sex trio.

“My 2 Dads did well as a sitcom so we figured my 3 dads has got to be one better surely!”, Iain continued.

“I love the dynamic, it feels entirely unique and I can’t think of anything like it on another soap or drama.”

While Iain keeps the mystery alive, he mentioned that this will one of the program’s “biggest stories.”

Viewers can expect a “really interest year” for all characters involved, particularly due to one major twist which will cause “former enemies to become best friends in secret.”

But how will they help Summer as creepy couple Mike and Esther continue to prey on her in the hopes of making her their surrogate?

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8pm on ITV.
