Why is Emmerdale not on ITV tonight and when is it back on?


EMMERDALE fans, youll be in for a shock if you tune into ITV for the usual double bill tonight – because it wont be on.

But why is there no Emmerdale on the box tonight and when will it be back on? Lets find out.

Why is Emmerdale not on tonight?

Emmerdale isnt airing tonight (Thursday 14th November) because ITV are making room for live coverage of Englands Euro 2020 qualifier against Montenegro.

Even though the match doesnt kick off until 7.45pm, were off to Wembley Stadium at 7.00pm so the soaps regular 7.00pm and 9.00pm showings are being shunted from ITVs schedule.

So Emmerdale has been shelved for the football match and is taking a small break from your screens – right in the middle of Jimmy Kings nightmare too!

It will return next week with a double on Tuesday November 19

When is Emmerdale back on air?

Dont worry Emmerdale fans, you wont have to wait long for your favourite soap to be back on telly.

Emmerdale has only missed one instalment out of six this week, having aired two episodes together on Tuesday.

And luckily for fans, it will make up for tonights absence next week by showing seven episodes – a double on Tuesday 19th November, and the usual split double bill on Thursday 21st November.

What’s happening in Emmerdale?

Wednesdays episode saw Jimmy King caught in the firing line as Jai accused him of abusing his son Archie.

A shocked Jimmy was quick to deny that hed caused the bruises, which were actually made by an angry Arthur.

But actor Nick Miles – who plays Jimmy – has warned that his character is in for an awful time as the abuse plot unfolds.
